If you’ve followed me for a while (I’ve been blogging for a year already – where did that time go!?), you’ll know that I’ve changed my blog name more times than I care to remember. I’m not good with names and I couldn’t think of something that embodies what I want to represent, so I’ve decided to just stick to my real name. I prefer that, after all, I am me, and it is much easier to just be me than to try to fit some persona I create for myself.

If you follow my blog, you’ll also know that I am passionate about supporting and empowering working mothers to ‘have it all’. I know it’s a cliche, but I do believe we can have a successful career and a happy family. In fact, I know we can because I do.

So, how do I propose to provide this support? Well, three ways:

1. By leading by example (always a good place to start!) and sharing my story. Despite desperately searching for ‘ordinary’ career-mum role models during my pregnancy, I share my own story reluctantly, telling myself that no-one really cares how I do things. Some recent interactions with lovely readers have made me question this view, so, if by sharing my story I can help you with the self-doubt that I experienced, then I should (and will!) do so.
2. By sharing advice and knowledge about work-life integration, leadership and the good and bad that being a career mum brings. I am passionate about these things and spend a lot of my time reading about these things, so why not share that knowledge with you!
3. By creating a community of like-minded career mums. Our Facebook Group is a friendly and supportive place for career mums to connect and support each other. If you haven’t already, join us!  Better yet, come to our picnic at the end of the month and meet us in real life. Details are TBC, but I’ll publish them in the Facebook group soon.

I look forward to getting back on track and to connecting with some more like minded career mummas!
